The national weather service in anchorage has issued a high wind warning, which is in effect from 6 am to 7 pm akdt tuesday.

* wind...southeast winds 50 to 65 mph with gusts to 80 mph are expected along turnagain arm and the upper hillside. While warning level winds are not expected over the lower elevations of the anchorage bowl, we are expecting southeast winds 20 to 30 with gusts to 45 mph to develop in town.
* timing...winds will steadily increase overnight tonight into early tuesday morning. Winds are expected to peak midday tuesday and diminish below warning level by early tuesday evening, though gusty winds are expected to persist through tuesday night.
* impacts...travel may be difficult. Trees may be blown over. Loose debris can be moved and damage property.
